WHO WE ARE
The Apam Senior High School Old Students Association (ASSOSA) is the official alumni body of Apam Senior High School (“GREAT APASS”), uniting graduates in support of each other and our beloved alma mater. Open to all past students and chapters globally, ASSOSA fosters unity, gives back to the school community, and advances professional networking and personal growth.
HISTORY OF APAM SHS
The Apam Senior High School popularly known as Great APASS was founded by the late Rev. J.W. DeGraft Johnson. The school started from a very humble beginning in a cocoa shed at “Apaa Paado” on the morning of 20th February, 1953 as a Day Secondary School. The school moved to its present location “Mmofra Mfa Adwen” in 1960. APASS has a great tradition of excellence in academics and sports.
In terms of mission, Apam Senior High School exists to provide a conducive atmosphere for character training, excellence in academics and sports all in a bid to produce knowledgeable, useful and all round citizens imbued with good character and skills that will epitomize the school’s motto: “Obra Pa Gya Owura Kwan” (Character and Efficiency).
The men and woman who have steered the affairs of the school since its inception to date are the following:

Dr. Ishmael Evans Yamson
A lifelong Committed ASSOSA Member from 1961 haven graduated from Apam Secondary School. Recently appointed to serve on the Presidential Advisory Group on Ghana’s Economy (PAGE). Also the current Board Chairman of MTN Ghana

Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah (Rtd.)
Former Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana, His Lordship Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah (Rtd.). Did you know that the inner ring way in our school is now named after him? Kwasi Anin-Yeboah High Street. (He gave the Biggest Road Facelift of asphalting of the entire roads in our school)

Mr. Theophilus Adonis Aryee
Deputy Director-General (Technical) of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority and a proud Strategic Donor to the Apam SHS Endorsement Fund.

Mr. Richard Quansah
Mr. Richard Quansah of the famous Richy Plantation is one of the Highest Donor to the course of our great School. He donates to massive projects in the school including the Endowment Fund and the E-Library program.

Mr. Joseph Ekow Biney
Mr. Joseph Ekow Biney of BAG Freight is an Old Boy with a Passion and another distinguished and a proud heavy Donor to the course of our school including the Apam SHS Endowment Fund and many others.

Justice Ayitey Armah
A Court of Appeals Judge, His Lordship Justice Ayitey Armah is an Old Boy of our Great School and a Committed Donor to the Course of the School including the recent Apam SHS Endowment Fund. Did you know that we have the men?

Mr. Peter Mac Manu
Mr. Peter Mac Manu is a proud Old Boy and a great Donor to the course of our School. He is a Ghanaian Politician and a great leader at that and above all he loves his school
